Kids Fishing Day
Kids Fishing Day Committee & DAWGS
Kids Fishing Day is a great opportunity for kids to get out and fish for a morning with their family and have instructions from volunteers if needed. Kids Fishing Day is sponsored by several organizations and volunteers including Wyoming Game and Fish, United States Forest Service, Kiwanis and DAWGS.
Typically ages 2-15 participate, but all youth are welcome. This activity serves approximately 65 people. Young anglers have the chance to catch some fish and learn about the environment. The focus is to broaden appreciation for the outdoors and awareness of its benefits. It is an introduction to a lifelong sport, and a chance to encourage outdoor activity. Bait is provided at the event and fishing gear is given to the children who do not have their own gear. Many of these children have never fished before. Children also have the opportunity to learn how the Wyoming Game and Fish Department stock ponds and lakes.
It is a great family event and a learning experience at the same time.
